A Red Red Rose
by Robert Burns

O my Luve’s like a red, red rose
That’s newly sprung in June;
O my Luve’s like the melodie
That’s sweetly played in tune…

Happy Valentine’s Day from the Varnum Post.

In the current economic environment it has become more and more important to be dynamic in the workplace. Reinventing yourself has become a rallying cry. I share my 6-Steps To Reinventing yourself this week.

Today was a real treat for local Long Beach residents. The 44th President stopped in to do a Town Hall meeting in Costa Mesa. Many of us knew his plane would be landing at the Long Beach Airport. So we hopped in the car, myself, Brenda, Jo and Pat, and set out to capture some pix. Most people thought that President Obama would motorcade down the 405 to the Town Hall. However, I think he was swooshed away in one of the 5 Marine Helicopters. Well I got to take some pix close to Air force one. It truly is a magnificent airplane.

Here is another picture, a closer up one.

First Lady Michelle Obama wore a stunning sleeveless dress in her official portrait. Some say the President’s wife should not wear sleeveless. Tell VPN what you think.

This is a very moving piece from the Bush twins and shows great care and admiration.

Mr. & Mrs. President

Mr. & Mrs. President (from huffington post)

Today’s presidential inauguration was indeed one of the most watched ever. It was also one of the most internet watched, internet blogged ever. I followed along early in the morning on twitter. Twitts were going full blast. As soon as you wrote something it took a minute or two for it to show up. This is usually indictative of lots and lots of traffic. Facebook was the same. It was connected with many of the other social network websites like Youtube, Myspace and others.

The speech by the president was not on the same lines as his Ebenezer Baptist Church speech or his speech on Racism. It was however very deliberate and distinct in telling the american people that things will be done differently from now on. There are many hopes for a nation renewed. The radio broadcast have people calling in exclaiming great pride. Black and White, Latinos and all hues and ethnics.

My hope for this new administration is that people will talk to one another and try to understand that “yes we can” be the change we seek.

Inauguration Day is Coming.
